It's you vs you

I just finished a session at Pure Sweat Sauna Studio sweating my ass off.

45 minutes at 158 degrees thinking about life while my body purged "toxins."

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't staring at the timer for the last 15 minutes wondering if this wooden box of misery was actually doing anything.

But then it hit me – sitting there, fighting the urge to escape early, battling my own mind telling me to quit.

That's the whole game, isn't it?

The biggest battle we face isn't against some external competitor.

It's the war against ourselves.

And that got me thinking...

Most people aren't competing against each other. They're losing to themselves daily.

That voice in your head is the biggest dream-killer of all time.

It's gotten more bodies than cancer, heart disease, and every season of Game of Thrones combined.

"You're not qualified enough."
"People will think you're stupid."
"You should wait until you're more prepared."
"What if you fail and everyone sees it?"

Familiar, right?

Here's the truth that nobody tells you:

Nobody gives a fuck about your dreams as much as you do.

Not your mom. Not your best friend. Not your significant other.

Sure, it's incredible when you have people genuinely rooting for you. That support is invaluable.

But at 2 AM when you're questioning everything, they're asleep.

They're not losing sleep over YOUR goals.

And your "competition"? Those people you're comparing yourself to?

They're too busy fighting their OWN voice to worry about squashing your dreams.

The sooner you realize this battle is internal, the faster you'll progress.

That voice telling you that you can't is just trying to keep you safe. It's a prehistoric survival mechanism.

But we're not running from sabertooth tigers anymore.

We're running toward the life we want, and that voice hasn't caught up.

So here's my advice:

Tell that voice to shut the fuck up.

Not politely. Not with gratitude journaling.

Just "Shut the fuck up, I'm doing this anyway."

Every morning when I wake up, my inner voice gives me 37 reasons why I should stay in bed.

"You worked hard yesterday."

"One more day won't matter."

"You deserve a break."

Instead of negotiating with it, I just say "Shut the fuck up" and get moving.

The people who win aren't the ones with no self-doubt. They're the ones who act despite it.

So next time that voice starts its bullshit, remember:

No one else will care more about your dreams than you. No one will fight harder for them than you. And no one can stop you... except you.

I believe in you, but that doesn't mean shit if you don't believe in yourself.

Talk tomorrow,

Grant
